PACIFIC RIM BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD

Cate Burns has lectured and taught internationally at universities in Prague, The Czech Republic, New York City, Los Angeles and other cities. She holds a BA degree from the University of Washington in Asian Studies, a second BA degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Fine Arts, an MFA from the University of California Irvine in Fine Arts, and a PhD from the Union Graduate School in Art History and Women's Studies. She is a recipient of an Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation Award from the National Association of Women Artists in New York City, The Twentieth Century Award for Achievement, the International Woman of the Year Award from the International Biographical Centre, London. She won first place for her non-fiction short story, The Girdle, from the national competition, the Lorin Tarr Gill Writing Contest. Her book manuscript, Libido Tsunami, won an award as an unpublished manuscript in the Pacific Rim Book Festival in 2016.
