Multi-award-winning author Rita Ariyoshi served as editor of Hawaiian Airlines inflight magazine for three years, then became the the founding editor of Aloha, The Magazine of Hawaii and the Pacific, and served as editor-in-chief of the magazine for ten years. She left the magazine to devote her time to a freelance writing career. She has guest-lectured at several schools in Hawaii, including the University of Hawaii, and was a speaker at the Maui Writers Conference. She lives in Honolulu with her husband, Joseph and dog, Miki.
