I always get excited when a Savant author finally makes the necessary contacts, organizes and executes his or her first Book Launch.  Today I have the privilege of announcing Savant author Larry Rodness' TODAY I AM A MAN 1 April 2010 Book Launch at Indigo Bookstores in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. signing included selected readings from the book and a live newspaper interview.  Way to go, Larry!

Meeting one's readership and the public is one of the most pleasant duties of a writer, at least as far as I'm concerned.  Many people don't know it, but writers don't commonly receive a lot of email feedback from readers, so when it happens face-to-face, eyeball-to-eyeball, like during a book launch, it's icing on the cake. Congratulations, Larry - I'm glad to hear how much fun you found it.

It's not always easy organizing a book launch or signing party at a retail bookstore. It takes considerable planning and effort, not the least important challenge being getting the word successfully out to prospective readers in this day of media over-saturation.  Arranging the method for sales during the event can also be challenging, but pre-purchasing books at our author rate and giving them to the store manager to sell at retail usually works well, as it apparently did for Larry.  That takes the sales burden off the author and gives one more time to talk with readers who come and want to meet the author. One more time:  Congratulations Larry Rodness with the launch of TODAY I AM A MAN available now through the Savant Bookstore, on Amazon.com and at fine bookstores everywhere.

Sincerely,
